Around the turn
of 1909 to 1910 the “Crib Association“ of Oederan was
founded.
The aim of the foundation was, on the one hand, to give new impetus
to the folkloristic art from the Erzgebirge mountains, and on the
other to maintain national traditions. The annual Christmas shows
formed the central focus of work.
In 1924, however, the association split.
One part of the original association formed the “Association
for Native Folkloristic Art“. Thanks to its members, the “Klein-Erzgebirge“ opened
in the heart of Oederan’s urban forest in May 1933.
After troublesome years of war, a group of carvers and hobbyists,
including Willy Schramm, Max Steyer and Hans Wiebigke, took up
the continuation of the Oederan traditions. It is due to these
people that the new “Klein-Erzgebirge” could be opened
again – this time, however, in the municipal park of Oederan.
Today’s association “Klein-Erzgebirge e.V.“ developed
out of this group and meanwhile counts more than 50 honorary members.
Today, the “Klein-Erzgebirge e.V.“ supports the miniature
show.
